I am flying with my two year old and i was wondering if I have to pay the adult fare for her? Most sites that I am searching ask how many child travelers and then ask how old, but the total comes up like I have 3 adults traveling… anyone have any experience with this and know if any airline offers a discounted ticket for 2 year olds? thanks!!

Humans have been travelling for all sorts of needs and since the beginning of time. Even before technology was developed; people have been travelling using animals like horses, camels and donkeys. Later came great inventions; from carts to car, boats to ships, bikes to motorcycle and then came aeroplanes and helicopters. And the recent times witnessed the greatest travelling machine bringing men to space; testing the very limits of minds.
In today’s world where efficiency means time and money, travelling by air would be the best way to save time provided that there’s a way to fly cheap. Furthermore, for journeys accross the globe; from a country to another, from a continent to the other would be shortest by air rather than by sea. This is especially important to those who travel frequently across the globe for work or businesses or even leisure.
Travelling by air is also far more comfortable with no traffic jams around and flights usually provide everything you need for travel within the plane itself. The question is, how to get cheap airline tickets since travelling by flight is usually more expensive than other means? You can actually find cheap and affordable airline tickets from time to time if you know how, where and when to find them.
One of the ways to get cheap air tickets would be by using low fare airline services. This type of airline companies usually provide cheap fares with minimal on board services included in the fare. Extra services are available with an extra charge if you need them.
Cheap tickets are also available from standard airline services especially during seasonal promotions all year round. Great discount and cheap holiday packages are also available from these airline companies during fairs annually held by them or tourism boards. Some airlines offer discounts for tickets bought through their online service, few weeks prior to the departure dates. And many dedicated online companies now offer a range of services including cheaper flight tickets for their loyal frequent flyers.
Airline tickets are generally cheaper if bought weeks earlier on departure. Choosing to fly off peak hours dates would also be the key to finding cheap and affordable tickets. Check out reliable travel agencies around as they might also offer lower prices for airline tickets and discounts from time to time.
Therefore, the next time you’re thinking about flying for work or simply leisure, keep these tips in mind for a fast and money saving journey worldwide.

The airline, EVA (evaair) has great online only web fares to Asia. Problem is they only process bookings with a credit card in my name. They will absolutely NOT accept any debit cards, even if they are labeled “Visa” from my bank. I find this amazing, since I am essentially offering them cash, but all the customer service people I spoke with say it’s because they process the transactions at their home-base in Taiwan. Obviously there are technology services to get around that, but I guess they are avoiding paying additional fees and save money. If the discount being offered was not significant, I would buy the ticket elsewhere. However, if I buy on their website I can save around $600! Believe me, I’ve shopped around. I also have frequent flier miles with them through a travel agent before and that gets me deeper discounts than normal, plus two nights free hotel…but only if I buy through the web. My friend offered to put the charge on his credit card and I can pay him cash, but the airline rules say the card has to be presented be in the name of and presented by one of the travelers. Well, I don’t see any option other then buying the ticket from another source and losing the discount. Unless someone brilliant here knows how to buy online with credit in my name suddenly? Oh, I sheepishly add that I would like to travel in one week…
I tried entering the debit card since I figured it wouldn’t be a problem and processed the same way, etc. It is, in fact, immediately rejected because it’s a debit card. The payment processing system they use seems to able to tell through some instant feedback from a global financial system service.

My son is in the Army and is stationed at Fort Richardson in Alaska. He has leave for Christmas, but I cannot find plane tickets for under $1,000.00. How do I go about finding out about military discounts, and / or HOPS? The Air Force bases are tight lipped about HOPS now due to 9/11, and my son is in the middle of the desert in California training for his tour in Afghanistan in February, so he is unable to find out. I want to surprise him by bringing him home, but that’s a lot of money…Help!
