With my IATA(IATAN) card, how can I get flight discounts?

TravelGuy asked:

No problem getting big discounts on hotels, but everytime I’ve looked into getting discounts, the airline says I need to write my own paper ticket. The tour operator that I work for doesn’t use ANY paper tickets anymore. Any ideas how I can get some of the industry discounts? Thanks!! Happy Traveling!!!

Go to the ticket counter and purchase your ticket there. That makes them do it and just have your credentials ready. Thats how we do it

We use Allegiant Air with our IATAN credentials for just $35 each way. Nothing like two round trip tickets to Vegas for only $140 :-)

We go to Vegas alot too. I also use my credentials and stay at the Bellagio for just $139 per night. Depending what time of year we go we save anywhere from $160-250 per night with our credentials

what;s funny about this , that 1st of all Not all airlines require you to write ur paper ticket a great example would be American Airline u can get discouted ticket right on there web site . the second funny part that u hold an IATA card ( which is hard to get; took me 3yrs to get) and u can’t find a way to get discounted flights ?? and the third funny part that there is NO WAY on earth a travel agent (or tour op.) No loner “use” paper tickets, its just that e-ticket is so common these days that there is no need for paper one , BUT they can always issue a paper ticket no matter what ( look for the Special printer somewhere in the office it should be there) ..
