By offering special deals they sell a greater number of seats and also save airlines a great deal of money on advertising. These sites also work on the principal of social word of mouth. I got one of those crazy airline deals to fly somewhere out of the country for $9.00 USD one way. So I felt just for kicks, I would get a ticket. I figured $18 and then pay for a hotel there. Why not, right?

Well, during the checkout procedure on the airline’s website, $18.00 + $89.70 Taxes and fees make it come up to $107.70. OMFG, what the heck is this???????

I was throwing the idea around to go to Nicaragua. I don’t speak the language nor do I leave the country often. Now i don’t even want to go. Look at these fees!
