Fares for noncustodial parent to pick up child?

Hi, does anyone know of any special discounts for a single parent to fly just to pick up and return their child to the custodial parent? My son needs to fly to New England, pick up his son, return to the south – then a week or two later do the same thing to get his son back to New England.

Are there any special fares for th is type of travel? He is not staying anywhere, just going back and forth.
Is there a “special” name for this type of airline ticket?
Thank you!

Depending on the childs age he could fly as a unaccompanied minor, I think they have to be 8 otr something like that……. The Childs mother could drop him off at the gate and a flight attendant would accompany him to the next stop where your son could pick him up at the gate, they are with out parent for basically ONLY the flight time and there is a flight attandant there just for the child, not for anything else. It costs altlle extra, call your airline and find out more. Good Luck Grammy!

ur grandson might qualify for a “child fare”; but double check with the airline’s reservation to see if he could get that fare; but the sitation above definatly sound like ur grandson is what the airline industry would called an unaccompany minor, “UMNR.” by paying a small fee, ur grandson is flying under the watchfull eye on the carrier of ur choice. he is escorted to the gate with one of his parent and by the time he gets to his final destination he is only to be picked up by the destinated person specify on his paper work. he will be a charge of the airline until his parents arrived.
